The development and operation of Phase II has been a lengthy and complicated process, taking a total of 43,000 man days to complete! Over 5,000 man days were required for drywall. To place concrete required almost 5,000 man days. Masonry (2,300 man days), structural steel (2,400 man days), wall panels (3,700 man days), plumbing (2,000 man days), heating ventilation and air conditioning (2,200 man days), and electrical (3,400 man days) all achieved a significant collaborative effort to complete The Garlands newest addition.

To memorialize the process, meetings to discuss equipment and operations between subcontractors and our plant director were videotaped. A company photographed the entire construction process to provide a pictorial history. Documents such as architectural drawings and specifications, operating and maintenance manuals and guarantees and warranties have been saved and compiled in a vast database.

Today, however, there is only time to look forward as new residents begin to call The Garlands Phase II “home sweet home.”
